NOTICE OF SPECIAL ELECTION TO FILL VACANT MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL POSITIONS

The City of Gladstone will hold a special election on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, at Gladstone City Hall. The City of Gladstone seeks to fill a vacant mayor and councilmember seat on the Gladstone City Council.

A candidate for any public office in an incorporated city may be nominated by filing with the City Auditor, before four (4) p.m. on the sixty-fourth day before the holding of the election, a petition signed by not less than ten (10) percent of the number of qualified electors who voted for that office in the last city election.
​
A candidate shall also file a statement of interest as required by N.D.C.C. § 16.1-09-02.​
Petitions must meet the specifications of nominating petitions pursuant to N.D.C.C. § 16.1-11-16.​
This Notice is being given pursuant to N.D.C.C. § 40-21-02(1).

Deadline for petitions is Sunday, November 24th at 4pm
​

Petitions for Mayor must be signed by no less than ten 10% of the 35 votes cast for that office in the last election.

Petitions for Councilmember must be signed by no less than ten 10% of the 70 votes for that office in the last election.

Water payments are due the 24th of each month by 4pm. Payments can be left in the dropbox at City Hall.

Tuesdays are garbage day. Please have dumpsters at the curb by 8AM. Side trash will not be collected.

All pets must be licensed, and proof of current rabies vaccination provided. Contact City Hall for more info.
