Personal Property on the Street:

  • Personal property parked on the street must be relocated to allow proper access for maintenance staff. Items left in the roadway obstruct access to boulevard trees, curb stops, and other utilities, and interfere with essential services such as street sweeping and snow removal.

  • Violations of City Ordinances related to personal property parked on public streets will be addressed by the Sheriff’s Department. Enforcement may include warnings, citations, fines, or removal of the property.

Street Parking During Snow Events:

  • When snowfall exceeds two inches, all vehicles and personal property must be removed from the street to ensure safe and efficient snow removal.

  • Parking is strictly prohibited on designated Snow Routes once two inches of snow has accumulated and remains restricted until the snow has been fully cleared.

Protect Your Water Meter from Freezing:

  • To help prevent damage during cold weather, please take the following precautions:

    • Ensure the meter pit lid is securely closed.

    • Use heat tape or insulation on any exposed pipes.

    • Insulate the water meter itself, especially if it’s exposed to the elements.

    • Keep your thermostat set to at least 55°F, even when you're away.

  • If you suspect your water meter has frozen, contact City Hall immediately. Please note: the cost of replacing a damaged meter is the homeowner’s responsibility.
