Lead & Copper Rule Informational Meeting Thursday, March 13th at 6pm

cityofgladstone

The EPA's final Lead and Copper Rule Improvements (LCRI), issued in October 2024, enhances previous regulations to better manage lead in water systems. Key changes include replacing all lead and certain galvanized service lines by December 31, 2037, lowering the lead action level to 0.010 mg/L by November 1, 2027, revising sampling procedures, increasing public education, and strengthening corrosion control. Gladstone, with assistance from AE2S and state funding, has met initial requirements under the LCRR. The EPA acknowledges the complexity of these changes and allows a three-year preparation period, with compliance by November 1, 2027. State funding will again support AE2S in meeting Category B requirements. Citizens are invited to a Lead and Copper Informational Meeting on March 13th at 6pm at City Hall to learn more and ask questions. For further information, contact Maria Kolling, Auditor, at auditor@gladstonend.org.
