2026 Primary Election - Open Council Seats

The City of Gladstone will have three open council seats on the 2026 Primary Election Ballot:

• One (1) Mayor Seat, four-year term

• Two (2) Councilmember Seats, four-year terms

A candidate may be nominated by filing a Nominating Petition and Statement of Interest form with the City Auditor before 4pm on April 6, 2026. The nominating petition must meet the specifications pursuant to NDCC § 16.1-11-16 and be signed by not less than 10% of the number of qualified electors who voted for that office in the last city election.  See below for position-specific signature requirements:

Mayor Seat: 35 votes cast x 10% = 4 valid signatures required

Councilmember Seats (2): 70 votes cast / 2 spots = 35; 35 x 10% = 4 valid signatures required
